Mixed Reality Makeup is a system that offers an entirely new makeup try-on experience based on high-speed projection mapping technology. This system projects realistic makeup directly onto a face. In addition, it follows facial movements. Since customers can try countless makeup designs in a real 3D space, they can choose products faster, with more confidence and fun than conventional try-on or AR makeup filters.

This system can be installed in any location, making it possible to utilize various spaces for cosmetics sales. We also customize the color and design to match the actual color of the products.

This technology can be used also for entertainment production, not limited to the cosmetics.

Ultra high-speed projection mapping

The unique facial recognition technology and 1000fps high-speed projector allow the makeup to follow facial movements and changes in facial expressions with absolute precision. Customers can try realistic makeup just in second. In addition, this system is designed to be safe for the human eye, allowing the user to experience makeup without feeling glare.

Customization of the makeup design

Eyeshadow, blush, and lip makeup can be customized in a wide range of colors and shapes to reflect brand's products and concept. Customers can quickly try numerous makeup combinations to find new makeup styles. Anyone can choose products with confidence after testing them on their own face, regardless of their skin tone, makeup, experience, or other backgrounds.

CES 2025 Exhibition

KOSÉ Corporation and Tokyo Electron Device Limited jointly exhibited a “Mixed Reality Makeup 0 min try-on studio” at CES, the worldʼs most influential tech event, on January 7-10, 2025 in Las Vegas.

“Mixed Reality Makeup 0 min try-on studio” named as CES Innovation Awards 2025 Honoree in the XR Technologies & Accessories Category.

The exhibition featured an "Entertainment Booth" where visitors could easily try out 20 different dramatic makeup styles, including Kabuki makeup, and a "Counseling Booth" where they could choose the precise colors and shapes for eye makeup, lipstick, and blush to recreate a natural look.
Over 1,400 people visited our booths, and many of them were pleasantly surprised and happy with their experiences. Additionally, we received positive feedback about the potential business applications of our offerings.
